Other Details to Note

Since it is an old building, we advise our guests to be wary of using too many electronic devices at once (ie. multiple hair dryers). Although not a common occurrence, we have seen a benign apparition from time to time so it's possible you may have the opportunity to make his acquaintance as well.

Accessibility and Availability

Neighborhood

Marblehead is a quaint seaside town that offers many options for both locals and vacationers. Visit any of our local beaches — Gas House Beach, Devereux Beach or Grace Oliver's Beach, walk around Old Town and browse the local shops, or visit one of our many restaurants, such as The Landing, Sea Salt, Maddie's Sail Loft or The Beacon and enjoy some time with family and friends. If you take a quick drive over to Marblehead Neck — "The Neck", as it's commonly known — you can spend the day at the Chandler Hovey Park enjoying the lighthouse and all of the boats sailing in and out of the harbor. Or, head over to Castle Rock and watch the waves crash against the rocks. You will never get bored touring the lovely sights of Marblehead! And, if you are lucky enough to visit us during the month of July, you are in for a treat! The Festival of the Arts hosts a wonderful array of music, art and celebration (not to mention fireworks) to celebrate the birth of this great nation. It's a series of fun-filled days that you will be sure to enjoy! And, if you are visiting during the month of October, you have to venture over to Salem to take in Haunted Happenings! It's a must if you are in the area at that time of year.

Guest Access

Guests may enter through the front door to the building or the back door to the third floor unit. Please note that there is a parking pass for one car to park in an uncovered parking lot a block down the road.

Amy was a fantastic host, from the start she was incredibly responsive, provided ongoing directions, checked in quite frequently to ensure our stay was going well and so on. The building was easy to find and literal steps away from restaurants and shops. The parking lot was also a quick walk away too and easy to find. The apartment itself was incredibly spacious and incredibly clean. Water pressure was insanely strong (I loved it personally). This is an older building so we expected there to be plenty of steps, but just be prepared to walk a few flights. It wasn’t super challenging for an older family member but if you have any disabilities/etc I could see it being a little difficult. (Tip: There’s a back entrance which is quite a few steps but just one long staircase). Overall, I had a fantastic time here. Beds were great, location was fantastic but most of all, Amy was a fantastic host. Can’t wait to stay here again or at one of her other locations!

We had a lovely stay in old Marblehead, gorgeous location, apartment is perfect, very central and exactly as described. Amy was responsive and proactive, even checked in to make sure we were okay in the heat and with the new AC units. Would love to go back!
