Coastal Cottages in Massachusetts

We had a wonderful stay at The Boat House and are so glad we chose Marblehead over Salem — it was the perfect mix of charm, history, and being on the coast without the crowds. The location couldn’t have been more convenient, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and the waterfront. One of my favorite parts of the stay was being able to catch up on some work from the backyard office. The home itself was beautifully done, with a great attention to detail throughout. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely stay in old Marblehead, gorgeous location, apartment is perfect, very central and exactly as described. Amy was responsive and proactive, even checked in to make sure we were okay in the heat and with the new AC units. Would love to go back!

We had an incredible time at this house. It’s walkable to downtown Marblehead, which is adorable and has lots of things to see. It’s also very convenient to Salem! The home is beautiful, well kept and perfect for a group. It was clean, had everything we needed and was in a quiet neighborhood. The pool and backyard were also amazing. I highly recommend staying here!

Such an amazing stay on the Cape in a charming, historical home! The location was beautiful, the home was super clean and everything we needed for a comfortable stay was provided. We enjoyed the village of Harwich, the beaches and being able to walk down the street to a few local eateries. We were centrally located for a quick commute to visit friends in Barnstable and the shops in Chatham. Amy was an amazing host, very proactive about all the info we would need. We cannot wait to return again!

I grew up in M’head but moved to Texas so we have stayed in quite a few rentals in the past 17 years. The Boat House is very charming and comfortable and probably the best rental we’ve had in Marblehead. The location is amazing- easy to walk to coffee shops, shopping, ice cream, old town and ocean. Marblehead is a great walking town. Parking was easy. As noted the stairs are steep and curve so def not for people with mobility issues. Hosts were great-always responsive, always communicating and always helpful. To be honest we didn’t need to be in touch with host much so that’s a good sign too. Highly recommend this charming little house!

This place is amazing! Everything was just as expected. It was very clean and organized. We especially loved the location. It is the heart of the historic district. We were there during a very busy time, during the Festival of Arts. We really appreciated that there was a designated parking place for our car just a short walk away. The living room was comfortable and cool, and because of the location it was easy to go back for a rest between festival activities. It is a short two to three block walk to many really nice restaurants in Marblehead. At the end of the day it was nice to enjoy a hot shower and sleep in a very comfortable bed with quality linens. It was just a couple blocks from Crocker Park, so we had front row seats to the festival music and fireworks. Another plus is that there was a washer and dryer in the unit. We visit Marblehead twice a year, in the winter and in the summer, and we hope to stay here again! The host, Amy, was very responsive to any questions we had.

3rd year in a row and continues to not disappoint. This is our home away from home when we come to our “paradise” every summer!! Thank you Amy for your hospitality!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! We were in town visiting family over the Fourth of July weekend, and this house was perfectly located for us to take advantage of all of the fun, Fourth of July and Marblehead arts festival activities. It’s a short walk to Crocker Park, downtown Marblehead, and all the great bars and restaurants in the area. Amy was incredibly responsive, and even proactively sent us lots of good information on the Fourth of July festivities, including road closures that could impact our ability to move around during the weekend. We’ve rented a few properties in Marblehead over the years, and this was one of the best.

If you are looking for a cottage seaside stay in a historic area this is the Airbnb for you. The history around the neighbourhood was well worth the stroll. The house was well presented with tasteful furnishings, very clean, all amenities as described. Beds were super comfy, and in the warmer weather we experienced, both bedrooms had individual window air conditioners, a welcome relief!
